Advisory Council Charter

Mission

The Getchell Agency, Inc. Advisory council provides advice and counsel to the President/CEO of the agency on matters related to the provision of services to adults with developmental disabilities.

Membership

The number of members of the Advisory Council shall be no more than twelve (12) and shall include: persons knowledgeable in case management and other issues relevant to the consumer population served by the agency, at least one person with a developmental disability, and at least one legal guardian.

Selection

Members of the Advisory Council shall be appointed by the President/CEO of The Getchell Agency, Inc.

Authority

The function of The Getchell Agency, In. Advisory Council is advisory only. The agency's directors and officers carry sole responsibility and liability for the agency's policies, procedures and operations. Members of the Advisory Council are in no way liable for the decisions and actions of the agency's directors and officers.

Terms of Office

Advisory Council members are invited to serve two-year terms. Re-appointment is at the sole discretion of the President/CEO of The Getchell Agency, Inc.. Advisory Council members may be removed by the President/CEO of The Getchell Agency, Inc. with or without cause at any time.

Member Responsibilities

Each council member is expected to:

  1. Attend a minimum of 3 out of 4 quarterly meetings annually.
  2. Actively participate in the functioning of the council.
  3. Be available for individual consultation by the President/CEO.
  4. Honor the confidentiality of all deliberations of the council and financial, operating and otherwise proprietary or private information of The Getchell Agency, Inc. and its consumers.

Council Functions

Council functions include:

  1. Attending quarterly meetings
  2. Advising the President/CEO on matters related to the provision of services to adults with developmental disabilities.

Staff Support

The President/CEO and any staff she may appoint, shall act as support staff to the council. At a minimum staff support will include maintaining records of membership, attendance and minutes of council meetings.
