employmentStaff training and development:

It is the policy of The Getchell Agency, Inc. to invest in the highest standards of staff development and training for its employees.  Upon orientation, each employee is set up with an Employee Development Plan, which is updated annually through the Employee Evaluation process and, more frequently, as re-certifications and/or new training is required.  Within 30 days of hiring, each employee receives the following mandatory trainings, each of which is provided by a certified professional in the field.  These trainings include:

  • Direct Support Professional Training
  • Certified Residential Medication Aide (CRMA) Training
  • First Aid
  • CPR
  • Safety Care
  • Documentation
  • Person Centered Planning (philosophy and components)

Depending upon the employee’s placement in the agency, the employee may also receive training in Dual Diagnosis, Autism, Diabetic Care, and Oxygen Administration.  Any other topics relevant to the needs of the consumers under the direct care of the particular employee.
